Read and Think Initiative is a non-for-profit organization that is committed to promoting literacy and career awareness by sensitizing, enlightening, re-orientating and motivating students in order to build resourceful students and quality manpower for the advancement of our society.
Through the instrumentation of a systematic survey, we have been able to recognize the dilemma faced by students in understanding and identifying their reason(s) for schooling and choosing the right career path due to various societal factors and dearth of useful information which has caused many to make wrong career choices resulting in the consequence of living below their true academic and life potentials.

VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT

VISION
To be a leading crusade for education advocacy and career guide campaign that will help students discover themselves early in life so as to position the society for greater development by building resourceful and quality manpower.

MISSION
•To engender school-manship by reaching out and exposing students who have limited access to opportunities and little interest in education to the opportunities available to them by arousing their interest in careers and exposing them to the requirements for such.

•To introduce students to a continuous and systematic process of self-discovery and goal setting which will help them identify the various career options available to them and avoid career and personality misfit through a specially designed self-assessment exercise.

•To re-orientate young minds about the concept of nation building and service which they hitherto have the little understanding about because of their wrong perception about success and fulfillment.

•To Challenge the mind set of complacency and low achievement which has bedeviled the polity by making them realize they can achieve worthwhile goals not minding the type careers befitting them.

Since inception, Read and Think Initiativehas been able to reach out to over 1,200 secondary school students both in rural and urban centres across three geopolitical zones in Nigeria through a monthly academic reorientation campaign.

We have been able to organize debates and essay competitions where winners were awarded scholarships.
As part of our charity works, we have also been able to reach out to indigent students and the less-privileged.
Recently , we helped provide stationery materials and repair all the faulty typewriters belonging to the visually challenged secondary school students at the Nigerian Centre for the Blind, Ogbomoso.

We project to reach out to at least 100,000 Nigerian students on a yearly basis in both rural and urban centers. We plan to organize a yearly essay and debate competition on topical issues bothering on career choices and self-awareness among schools where winners will be rewarded. W e also aim that the initiative will reach out to the less privileged by sponsoring the education of truly indigent students who exhibit a great deal of talent and potential.
We therefore invite well-meaning financiers who share this passion; individuals, groups, schools and organizations in the public and private sectors who can support this cause to partner with us towards making the goals realizable.
